Not really, because when we went to pick up Aimee in Venice the beach was FREEZING!! We had to wear jackets and I wore my Uggs. Olivia’s Anthropologie *steal of the Century, marked down $19.99 from $78* kitty sweater made it’s grand debut, even though it’s 2 sizes too big, she still looked ADORABLE.
Boo! It’s hot every day during the week but on weekends it’s always like, no sun for you! Oh well, we picked up and Aimee and she loved the Tiguan. We went to our old sushi spot in Culver City called Kabuki. I ordered shrimp curry and as much as I love sushi, that is my new fave dish. It looks tiny but when you finish you are full.
She had to go to work and we went to our next stop, Antz Mom was having a BBQ for his sister’s birthday. It was great because Antz cousin Anthony *yesh, they both have the same first and last name* was there. He is so awesome and I rarely get to see him and his Mommy.
This is the last time I saw Anthony and his lovely girlfriend at Cirque du Bebe
Then we drove back to our side of town for our friends Jes & Tom’s BBQ. Story made the yummiest gaucamole ever. We watched videos of Irene’s cheesefest Bachlorette party strip show
Yep, that happened!
Olivia was quite entertaining playing with the 4 dogs at the party but I hate to admit it, Tom & Jes’s new puppy Ribs stole the show for me.
We called it a night at 9:30 which was fine with me since we needed an early night to get rested for the upcoming week. I was going to try to watch Blue Valentine *which Aimee highly recommends* on Netflix but we were too sleepy so we’ll take it to San Diego and watch it when Liv goes to bed.
So far, this has been a pretty stellar weekend. I am so looking forward to our mini vacay *even if it is just 2 hours away* I cannot wait to see Liv’s face when she goes to the zoo and Sea World. We are still going back and forth about taking the new red wagon because it’s so bulky and the new car has limited trunk space. Then again, I would love to decorate it for her birthday with ribbon streamers and she would have more room to lounge in than her stroller.
This song has been playing in heavy rotation in our house!!
I hope you lovelies are enjoying your 3 day weekend. I must pack and get started baking for Liv’s World Citizen class pre-birthday party.
Saturday was Charlotte’s 1st birthday! I remember when I was preggers and Antz was always telling me about his co-worker Cobb’s wife being preggo at the same time I was. We didn’t officially meet until Liv was about 3 weeks old but I am so happy Liv and Charlotte are BFFS. Lovely Charlotte’s party was super fun and Olivia exhausted herself *she’s been asleep since Lotte opened her gifts but you know Mommy took tons of photos.
I was leaving Monday open for prepping and packing for San Diego. I also was going to bake spice cupcakes for Liv’s World Citizen class on Tuesday but I just came across this blog and I must now devote 3 or more hours to laying in my hammock with a cup of fresh squeezed lemonade and this in hand…
“First, Lord: No tattoos. May neither Chinese symbol for truth nor Winnie-the-Pooh holding the FSU logo stain her tender haunches.
May she be Beautiful but not Damaged, for it’s the Damage that draws the creepy soccer coach’s eye, not the Beauty.
When the Crystal Meth is offered, may she remember the parents who cut her grapes in half And stick with Beer.
Guide her, protect her when crossing the street, stepping onto boats, swimming in the ocean, swimming in pools, walking near pools, standing on the subway platform, crossing 86th Street, stepping off of boats, using mall restrooms, getting on and off escalators, driving on country roads while arguing, leaning on large windows, walking in parking lots, riding Ferris wheels, roller-coasters, log flumes, or anything called “Hell Drop,” “Tower of Torture,” or “The Death Spiral Rock ‘N Zero G Roll featuring Aerosmith,” and standing on any kind of balcony ever, anywhere, at any age.
Lead her away from Acting but not all the way to Finance. Something where she can make her own hours but still feel intellectually fulfilled and get outside sometimes And not have to wear high heels. What would that be, Lord? Architecture? Midwifery? Golf course design? I’m asking You, because if I knew, I’d be doing it, Youdammit.
May she play the Drums to the fiery rhythm of her Own Heart with the sinewy strength of her Own Arms, so she need Not Lie With Drummers.
Grant her a Rough Patch from twelve to seventeen.Let her draw horses and be interested in Barbies for much too long, For childhood is short – a Tiger Flower blooming Magenta for one day – And adulthood is long and dry-humping in cars will wait.
O Lord, break the Internet forever, that she may be spared the misspelled invective of her peers And the online marketing campaign for Rape Hostel V: Girls Just Wanna Get Stabbed.
And when she one day turns on me and calls me a Bitch in front of Hollister, Give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, For I will not have that Shit. I will not have it.
And should she choose to be a Mother one day, be my eyes, Lord, that I may see her, lying on a blanket on the floor at 4:50 A.M., all-at-once exhausted, bored, and in love with the little creature whose poop is leaking up its back. “My mother did this for me once,” she will realize as she cleans feces off her baby’s neck. “My mother did this for me.” And the delayed gratitude will wash over her as it does each generation and she will make a Mental Note to call me. And she will forget. But I’ll know, because I peeped it with Your God eyes.
Amen.”

*Tina, you are a National treasure!*
My name is OLIVIA, I like to DANCE!!!
Too adorable, my kid can do the robot!!
I’ve got a busy day, I didn’t straighten my hair last night *I didn’t have enough chemical straightener and it’s a 4 hour process so I flaked out* so that has been added to today’s agenda. I also need to take my favorite shorts to the cleaners to get the zipper repaired. You would think I could do it myself now that I’m a seamstress extraordinaire but I am clueless when it comes to getting the zipper back on the right side.
Later Gators!
Whew, this week has blown by and I am nearing the completion of my Birthday Things to Do list. I got her adorable diaper covers yesterday!! I can’t wait to post all the photos of her gnarley birthday stuff. Antz worked on her French art posters last night *it came out so STELLAR!!* All that is left is packing, cleaning and decorating the Radio Flyer wagon our old neighbors gave us last weekend.
We picked up this canopy from Toys R Us on Tuesday night.
Liv was fascinated by all the toys and I told Antz we are lucky she isn’t at the I’ve gotta have everything in the store or I’ll throw a fit stage.
So we’ve been at the dealer for a solid 5 hours and I tried super hard to drive a hard deal but despite a few hiccups, I got my new baby.
I know I need to upload last weekend pics but today I’ve been super busy bee and tomorrow I’m even busier. The good news is, I managed to change our hotel booking so we won’t have to drive in Friday night for the art show *which would have been ridiculous, by the way*. I am anxiously awaiting hearing from Gilli’s friend, the talent agent so as soon as I get word, I’ll post what she thought of Liv’s headshots.
Even better news, my Jetta lease is over in August but my VW dealer is having a May sale that we are thinking of taking advantage of. We also found out that Antz gets an additional discount through his job *yet another perk of working at the most raddest place on Earth* and they have the white Tiguan with heated seats *lovely* and an ipod connection in stock. We are taking it for a test drive tomorrow when Antz gets off to see if fits in our teeny garage. Hopefully all will work in my favor and tomorrow I may have this guy…
We dressed Liv in her new bathing suit for her week 50 photo but she is no longer happy sitting up in her glider. It gets harder and harder to get her to hold a pose like her other weeks. There are some of the outtakes.
Okay, how adorable is her suit? I would have liked less belly showing but I suppose it’s alright. Antz is working on the graphics so I’ll post week 49 and 50 soon.
Saturday morning we picked up Antz Mommy and we went to Liv’s swimming lesson. When we got to the pool, it was total chaos. There must have been 200 kids in 3 different pools taking lessons. We had no idea who our instructor was, and in which pool. After walking around aimlessly for ten minutes I asked a nice, *very tan* girl where was the infant swimming lessons and she pointed us in the right spot. Antz Mommy got in the pool with me and Liv while Antz played photographer. I was worried the water would be too cold but it was nicely heated. There was about 15 babies in her class aged 9 months to about 3 years old. Liv has been in the water before but she was right at home *YAY* I bought her a safety vest but the staff told me vests weren’t allowed at that pool. Actually, she was better without it since she didn’t have anything restricting her movement and I don’t want her to need a crutch when she swims *like her Dad needs noseplugs* It was overcast, but perfect warm weather. The class was only 15 minutes long but it felt like we were in the water for hours.

Speaking of being in San Diego, guess what??!! Antz told me about this
Holy COW!! I wasn’t expecting Olivia’s headshots to be ready until next Friday but Sarah sent them to me today. YAY! I was completely crying *like a total dork* when I saw the photos. I don’t know how to put into words how beautiful a job Sarah did capturing Olivia’s lovely face. I always am blown away by how amazing her photos turn out. Now we have to send them to the talent agent and she’d better sign Liv up TODAY!! Like I said before, she brought her A-Game, STUNNING!
Enjoy!
