Super Sunday

Has it really been a week? I LOVE having Antz at home. I am going to be so bummed when he has to go back to work on the 5th. Today we took our Angel to the Montrose Farmers Market.

No idea why we look so forlorn but it could be sleep deprivation. The band was sweet, they placed Dixieland music that reminded me of New Orleans Square at Disneyland.
Our Olivia slept for most of the day. You can see her hair is getting curlier by the minute!
I bought kettle corn, Antz bought lamb/chicken kebabs. We bought these sweet flowers for Liv’s nursery.

I was going to buy strawberries for my *pie* but Antz made a strong point, I have cornbread and vanilla cupcakes in the pantry that I promised to make when we got the new stove and that was in March. So I have to make those before I venture into pie making. I did pick up some strawberries at Fresh & Easy today. I plan to make strawberry lemonade. We really need to take Olivia to Baby Gap. She needs short sleeve onesies, a sun hat and a dress for her photo shoot in July. We will go to the Glendale Galleria tomorrow because we have a lunch date with Gilli on Tuesday. Today has been heaven, Liv and I took a long *4 hours is long now-a-days* and Antz made me a lovely glass of Mimosa. I wish I could make time freeze because I see changes in Liv everyday and I love her smallness and I don’t want her to grow up 🙁 Antz is looking forward to her getting older *walking age* so we can take her to more places. I can’t tell you how desperately I want to go on vacation *ideally The Atlantis in the Bahamas*. I have to stay focused and save for the 2012 Olympics because they are right around the corner. It seems everyone laughs when I tell them we are taking Olivia but I am used to proving people wrong.

Whew, what a great Sunday

We did wake up before 9am this morning. My Mom stopped by on her way to her house in the desert to order our baby shower gift.

I was thinking about getting this cover for the car seat but I’m not sure it will fit.

We went to Antz nephew’s *Dion & Evelyn* apartment to see it.

They have a 1920’s apartment with one of those old creepy elevators. Dion & Evelyn are newlyweds and in February they are joining the PeaceCorps. They are being assigned to South America. I am mega excited for them!! His brother Cayce, and his wife met us at the apt and we all went to brunch at this place Dion loves. He knows the owner so we got a private room all to ourselves. The place was really nice on Melrose and the food was AMAZING!

Enjoying my strawberry and brown sugar crepe. After brunch we went to the Grove and walked around. We went to Nordstrom and I looked at the Ugg Boo in chestnut. I would rather get the Erin’s in blue so my only choice is ordering them online.

It was a pretty day today and we strolled around the farmers market and had ice cream.

I had Dion & Evelyn take a pic with the travel angel.

When I was 18, I wanted to join the PeaceCorps and I applied but when I was assigned to 2 months of training in Arizona, I backed out. If circumstances were different I would totally join and travel the world on the government’s dime. I am so happy Dion & Evelyn can experience that together. They are really a remarkable couple. I hope we have the chance to visit them in the next 2 years. We drove to the thrift shops in Pasadena but of course they were closed. 🙁 I’m pretty tired but I should finish the celeb baby game and clean the kitchen.

Adventures in La La Land

As I promised here are the results of today’s explorations. We started with lunch at In & Out *best place on Earth* tasted fruit samples at the Montrose farmer’s market and ended up in various beautiful locations. We are both tired from all the walking and posing.

Park in Glendale with Japanese Gardens

Antz in the tea house

Historic 1900’s Victorian Home

Next stop, Forest Lawn Cemetary Glendale *where Michael Jackson rests*

The Grand Masoleum is where Michael Jackson/Clark Gable/Jimmy Stewart/Sammy Davis Jr./Carol Lombard/Jean Harlow/Edith Head/ & Mary Pickford are resting unfortunately their graves are all private so I couldn’t get a closer shot. Walt Disney is also here but we couldn’t find it. Next time I’ll get a shot, he’s in a garden that is open to the public *not cryogentically frozen under Pirate of the Carribean ride*
Our last stop was a last minute local spot that I’ve known about forever, the Los Angeles River Center & Gardens. The site itself isn’t that spectacular but the grounds look like the perfect place for our bebe shower until I saw the rental fees. For a Saturday in May for under 150 guests it starts at $6,500! NO WAY!!

I love this patio, it would be fantastic for the shower but there’s no way we can afford that much!

Everybody’s Workin’ For the Weekend

Why does Apple taunt me??  I am keeping my fingers crossed that Antz gets me a new iphone for our anniversary on Tuesday. Mine is completely full and the screen is pretty gnarly. I see Gilli today for acupuncture 🙂 Had an awesome weekend. We met Story & Chris at the Americana and saw District 9 which was really good. Then we had sushi. Sunday Keith had us over for pool and food. Story brought peaches and treats from the farmer’s market. I baked cookies but they didn’t turn out so great because we need a new stove. Then we visited Antz Mum. Off topic, I really want this guy. Design Within Reach is my new obssession.
