Olivia the Supermodel Part Two

Last weekend Karen of the wonderful Misha Lulu children’s clothing line, released a few more photos from the Fall/Winter photo shoot. I didn’t get to see any of the photos she took during the shoot so I’m always surprised to see how they turned out.

Bella, Liv & True

Antz did a photo shoot in our backyard a few weeks ago while I wasn’t home. What a lovely surprise!

He told her, look sad. It’s weird how models always look miserable.

He did a fantastic job, I love how he put together her outfit and the sharpness of the photos. *well done babe!*

So again, I’m submitting Liv’s photos to modeling agencies *it’s all about being persistent* I know it will happen at the right time. Liv would make an amazing model but of course, I’m biased.

Renegade Craft Fair LA 2013

Sunday we went to the Renegade Craft Fair at Los Angeles State Historic Park in Downtown LA. This is our 3rd year and the fair never disappoints. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular but I was happy to see our old friends at the P.O.P. Crunch candy booth. We bought Pecan and Rosemary almond candy. I couldn’t pass up a delicate gold knuckle ring from Paperbird Creations and I got an extra 20% off by spinning their wheel. I also got lucky by finding Collisionware pot holders and oven mitts booth. We took our traditional Magnolia Photo booth family photo. Sadly the line was too long for the yummy organic popsicles from Front Porch Pops. I sure wish we did wait cause the weather was super hot and muggy. I saw so many familiar booths and lots of new shops too. Someone told me the Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco is incredible, so now of course I’m hoping to go for a weekend next year *along with our trip to Europe and every other trip I want to take* Antz and I have been to San Francisco several times but Liv has yet to go up north. The Renegade craft fair is the live version of Etsy/Pinterest, so creative and inspiring. I can’t wait to go to the holiday market in December to find rad gifts for Christmas.

I have some enormous hands! Baseball mitts!
Love these for Antz
AND…?
These are creepy but rad!
I want you creepy Mr. Fox!
Please don’t!
Ann Shen‘s booth is FABulous!!
My kids knows how to network
Liv hung around this gourmet lollypop booth long enough to score a free one
If only I didn’t kill every single plant I buy
I need these shirts!!
NEED!!
I love this lady doggy!
We have been burning our wittle hands on our cast iron pan, so I love our new mitt.
I love my goodies.

Jess & Tom’s Wedding 7/20/2013

Our good friends Tom & Jess were married yesterday on *our same* beach in Malibu. It was a small but intimate wedding. Their friend Michael was the officiant and Natalie & Vinny played violin and guitar at the ceremony. The reception was at Topanga Community Center. Olivia had the time of her life just being her three year old self. Lucky for us, everyone found her antics to be adorable and she hammed it up on the dancefloor.

Jess looked beautiful, I love happy brides!
Jess MADE  the light heart sign *yeah she’s a super handy lady* it was inspired by the signs we saw at The Cream

Lemonade, Vodka and Wine!!
Jess also made this adorable cake topper
Liv & Nic
My hot date!
Oooh Tom, you so nasty!

Happy Wedding Tom & Jess!!

30 Day Photo Challenge

I feel like I’ve been slacking in taking quality photos lately. I don’t know if  it’s from my phone being dropped a million times by Liv but my photos don’t come out as crisp or bright as I’d like. I am going to start using my Nikon SLR camera more often.

I’m going to challenge myself to take 30 days of photos with a different theme every day of August. I will follow this list.

These are pretty easy, I’ll have to make my own bokeh lens and play around with the settings a lot but I’m excited for this project. Feel free to join me, I’d love to have someone else to play along with.

I Know…

I’m still here, eating Popsicles like crazy. I took my braids out so I can deep condition my wig and let it air out for a minute. This weekend I’ll be re-braiding *my poor fingers*. Here’s what 6 weeks of braids looks like.

I’m still working on my summer bucket list but I haven’t been blogging on a regular basis, sorry. Just think of this as my blog hiatus. Like all the good teevee shows, I’ll be back this fall. Speaking of shows, didn’t this last season of Mad Men seem like the shortest ever? My favorite episode was when everyone got stoned on “vitamins”

I am counting the minutes until Walking Dead returns. Meanwhile, I can’t stop watching this rad video…

Taran is really gettin’ it!! Plus, I love me some Robyn.

Oh, and my other obsession is this juicy piece of bearded Man Meat *trademark Lizzie* I’m this close to creating a Pinterest board dedicated all to Pretty Ricki Hall *we share a last name so it’s obviously meant to be!*

Excuse me while I mop up my drool. This man is GORGEOUS!!! He’s British too, double whammy. OMG! Perfection.

And lastly, my official summertime jam. I know I have the weirdest taste but this song makes me so happy.

Jean Constantin – Ecole Buissonnière’

This is also a close runner-up *April March does a killer cover but I adore Françoise*

Françoise Hardy – Le Temps De l’Amour

Happy Friday Lovelies!

Fourth of July Weekend Wrap-up

Oh man, so much summer fun crammed into 4 days! Aimee came over to eat and we redneck-ed it in the backyard with booze
and watching Liv splash around in her pool. I got a little too much sun but it
was a good time.

MEAT!!!

Once again Highland Park did not disappoint as the fireworks capital of Los Angeles. It really sounded like bombs going off every second.

This is as crazy with fireworks as I get!

Mr Mailman brought me two much anticipated *as well as one unexpected* deliveries.

I ordered these guys back in May, they were totally worth the wait! Freshly Picked Moccasins
Liv’s Third year Shutterfly book arrived!

Her book turned out lovely
Stephanie, Carlos & Sophie Bloom sent Liv a special birthday package of gifts. She was super stoked! Thanks guys!!

Friday we decided to have an impromptu picnic in the park and then check out the California Science Center

I love the Parisian vibe at Barnsdall Art Park
Liv challenged Daddy to a race
It was fun but my phone died so I didn’t get many photos. It was cool to see the Endeavour space shuttle in person.
Nerd Fact: Endeavour had 25 successful flight during it’s 19 years of service.
It’s like 50 times the size than it looked when it flew over our house last year

Antz took this rad shot

This photo of us came out pretty lame, it was bad lighting in there.
We bought Liv a space shuttle toy, we tried to teach her how to salute.

I couldn’t resist stopping by the childhood house of Don Draper.

I’ve seen it tons of times since it’s located on historic Carroll Street *one of my favorite places in LA*

Friday night we hung out with Story & Chris for pizza and homemade peach cobbler *which was perfection, Story*. They gave Antz the raddest birthday present, these adorable Adventure Time toys.

Chris acting a fool as usual

Saturday we went to our nephew & niece’s daughter’s *Cayce, Ann-Marissa & Chayanne* 1st birthday party. It was a super fun pool party.

Antz made this gift wrapping magic
The pool was AH-MAZ-ING!
So now I want an in-ground trampoline super bad
Lemme tell ya, this guy is a great workout!
Chayanne is such a sweetie pie!
Liv was swimming up a storm, she’s very comfortable in the pool.
Grandma Debra and the birthday girl
Grandpa Darwin signing her birthday puppy
I love this idea *I wrote on the puppy’s feet*
Liv was inseparable with her friend Jianna!
Everyone helped Chayanne open her presents
She’s on the verge of walking any day now
I tried to get a photo of the girls hugging but all I got was their golden curls. We’re going to plan a playdate soon.

Antz was sweet enough to watch Liv for me so I could go see This is the End with Story and Chris. It was hilarious and I spotted Joe Manganiello *Alcide* at the theater.

I’m always on celeb watch!

Sunday we took it easy, breakfast with Leslie & Stephen at Cindy’s.

Liv & Nina

This afternoon we stopped by Antz Mom’s to visit relatives who are in town.

We feel like we’ve seen everyone we know this weekend. So happy we have a week with no commitments to relax. How was your weekend?

Whaamp Whaamp!

Not my best day.

A flat tire, an injured cat on meds and no 4th of July party this weekend makes Lizzie a very grumpy girl. Oh well, as they say, tomorrow is another day! 4 days with my hubby and the BFF is finally off on a holiday. See ya Monday.

Happy 4th America!

Antz Birthday Weekend Wrap Up

We have been on a sabbatical for the past four days. My lovely husband turned 38 and we celebrated and hiked the desert hills.

Don’t worry folks, he doesn’t have a mohawk, this photo was taken years ago

His old fridge in his office at work needed replacing so we bought him a bigger version for keeping his favorite drinks *Diet peach Snapple* cold.

I love his butt birthday card *I’m butt #3*

We had a delish home cooked birthday feast.

Thank God for air conditioning since it was super hot. My Mom, Liv and I got in the hot tub which even though it was 80 degrees, felt great. Liv is learning how to blow bubbles in the water now. So that’s as close to a pool as I got.

All my outdoor fun plans *beach, picnic at the Silverlake meadow* went out the window when it was close to 100 degrees. Antz was stationed under the air conditioning vents. We managed to take Liv to the movies. I had to snap this photo of the adorable little Mike Wazowski *don’t worry, I was sitting in the last row and turned my brightness all the way down, nothing irritates me more than when someone is on their bright phone during a movie*

I noticed by the thousands of photos of this exact same image on Instagram, I’m not the only one who had this idea. Monsters University was really good, I highly recommend it. I also bought The Great & Powerful Oz on DVD for Liv. We took her to see it at the movies and even though I was concerned it would be too scary for her, she LOVED it. Antz even made her a paper version of Glinda’s crown and wand *after she begged us to buy her one everyday*

*I’m not even joking, she wears her Cinderella dress and glass slippers all day, every day!*

Antz and I saw World War Z last week and it was entertaining. There are parts, particularly the ending that will disappoint, but anything with Brad Pitt keeps my attention *I like his greybeard stoner face*

I was hoping to have a BBQ for the 4th of July but now we don’t think it’s gonna happen. We took our cat Lola to the vet and she had an unexplainable accident that ended up with her getting stitches on her leg. Now she is on two medications that we have to give her 4 times a day. If you have ever given meds to a cat orally, you’ll know how miserable we all are. Seeing her limp around the house is sadders but we have to keep her inside until she heals so she cries to go out all the time. It sucks, my poor Lola in her cone of shame.

I haven’t been so happy happy either, I have been working on Liv’s 3rd scrapbook on Shutterfly. Her first 2 books were a breeze to make but for some weird reason when I used the editing tools on Firefox *which is my preferred browser* it kept crashing. So I open it in Safari, it works but I can’t upload photos from my Instagram account, d’oh! So let’s just say, I am having a hard time finishing it. Then I have 550 photos to edit and of course I want to use every single one of them but the book has only 45 pages and I’m trying to condense. You guys know how I’m all about quantity and not so consistent with quality!

Well, since I’m on nurse duty this week, I may not be able to blog often. Just know I’m here, thinking of completing my Summer Bucket List.

  1. As always, Beach days!!
  2. Last year we didn’t make it to a concert at the Hollywood bowl, so I’m super stoked to see Björk at the Bowl June 11th!! *Björk was AMAZING!!*
