It’s BROBEE!!

I am so freaking excited about Olivia’s Yo Gabba Gabba outfit. I wanted to buy the shirt and the tutu from Etsy but the chick from The Girly Tutu no longer sold the Brobee shirt, so I just bought the tutu and we bought felt to make our own Brobee shirt. Antz made it this morning and it came out STELLAR!! I think it’s better than the one I was gonna buy…

His prototype
Finshed result *hand sewn*
Happy Happy girl!!

Day #6….This makes me SUPER THANKFUL I have such a creative, genius husband. I would have paid $18 bucks for that shirt when we ended up paying $3.14 in felt, 2 hours of his time and $18 for the tutu. LOVE IT!!

Liv is 23 weeks today!!

We’re going to Giggle *my fave baby store* and getting lunch. We may buy her Beaba Babycook today too. Got to run, laters lovelies!

Halloweeners

Yep, I am queen of the double entendres! So last night Antz massacred some fabric trying to sew together a monkey costume. The more he worked on it, the worse it became, it was not working. Poor baby, he kept asking me what I thought and I gave him one of these

*I LOVE that face!!* Aimee and I say that to each other like 500 times a day. So he went to bed a bit sadders about his lame costume. I kept telling him, he could always break out the Leprechon look if he can’t come up with anything. Well, my dear husband is King of throwing something random together, he was hell bent on being a monkey so he was up early putting together what he likes to call

“Monkey Business”
He made the banana, and borrowed my Uggs! *should I be bummed that my hubby fits my shoes*
Complete with tail, I don’t know how he does it, total MacGuyver move.

He just aimed me that noone at work knows who he is, they think he made the monkey head *he bought it from a Thrift shop last night* Haha, I think he looks very Paul Frank chic, he pulled it off *again, at the last second*

But to be honest we both know we could have done better this year. We usually go all out for Halloween but next year will be a family costume. Liv is wearing her fairy costume *hooray for laziness on my part*

I need to jump in the shower and start on my makeup, I will try to get as many pics as I can but Antz isn’t here to be my photographer *Boo!* I am going to Antz job early so I can take pics of the costume contest and then we are going to the Nick party. You’ll have to forgive me but Mixtape Friday may be delayed until tonight *My Halloween Hits*. Later Skaters!!

P.S. Thankies to my 9 lovelies, I appreciate you taking time to read about the chronicles of a dork like me!!

Things to Do Before I’m Due

Seems like I can’t focus on what I need to get done in such short amount of time. I try to stay organized and keep lists of what has to be done but waiting on the tax refund, the arrival of packages and the limited amount of time Antz has to work on the big stuff, I don’t seem to be crossing off many items on my list. It’s been a whirlwind since February when Antz got his bonus. The first priority is finishing the nursery.

Things to Do Before I’m Due:

Touch up paint – Baseboards, razor the paint on the windows and french door.

Install the doorknob – nearly killed Antz but he got it on!

Wash/Wax floors

Install curtain rod/curtains

Open the second window *decided not to do this, one window is fine*

Build furniture *on hold until we get the Flip* Got the Flip, need to edit the video!

Order the rest of the furniture *once we receive the tax refund* Got tax refund Friday, Whoo Hoo!

Repair closet light *kitchen light and install floodlights in the backyard too*

Wash/put away all her clothes *I bought Dreft detergent yesterday but I’m too scared to wash anything because I might shrink or ruin them*

Finish painting/frame *Antz*

So I won’t feel so bad about our progress, let’s take a look at what we have done:

Removed popcorn ceiling *Antz worked so hard and him doing it saved us $500*

Paint nursery *the pictures don’t do it justice but the room is so much brighter and feels larger*

I taped off the floor with the furniture measurements so we can get a better idea of the floorplan. The chair looks so tiny but in person it’s huge.

Tonight Antz will touch up the threshold and put the doorknob on.

Purchase furniture *Oeuf Crib, changing dresser, hutch and changing pad*

The sad state of our warehouse living room. All this needs to be built but we may start on the office chair and the 2 shelves this weekend.

Organized and cleaned out closet

This is my hubby’s side *poor thing looks like he has no clothes*

Here is Olivia’s tiny nook, I am sure it will fill up in no time.

This morning Antz took apart and cleaned the ceiling fan so now it looks 100% better.

I really didn’t want to keep the fan in her nursery *Antz uses it all the time but he can’t when the bebe is in there* I would love the Knappa lamp from Ikea

I just couldn’t get rid of a $700 ceiling fan and we had an electrician install it so it would be really a hassle to take it down. I suppose when she gets older we’ll move Antz office out so then I’ll change the light fixture. The good thing about the ceiling fan is there is a dimmer so when I use it, the light will be subtle.

Now I have the rest of my house. We made a huge step in getting the new stove and microwave and soon we’ll have the garage roof repaired but our plumbing is retarded! I also bought new curtains for the living room and plan to buy these for the fireplace

I found this set at Bed, Bath & Beyond and Antz sister gets 20% off. I still haven’t found a candle holder I like but I need something before the baby shower. I also need to start watering the grass daily again so it will grow back. It’s doing so well in certain parts of the yard but not on the lawn.

We desperately need a new/bigger bed. We took a gamble and bought another Ikea bed although we vowed not after our old one from the apartment. Of course, it’s breaking and the “wood” is peeling like a sticker. We need to upgrade to a king, although I don’t know how well it would fit in this tiny bedroom. I also could use a new mattress while we are at it, which means new linens and featherbed. The list never seems to end. I just love the beds at W hotels and everytime we stay at one I am saying to myself, there is no reason I couldn’t be this comfortable in my own home. We are both practically 6 feet and our dog and cat tend to sleep with us which makes for a tight squeeze in this queen. I’ll probably have to put that on our list of things to do next February.

Yay! Mr. UPS just came by with a package from the Gap!! I am expecting Amazon on Monday.

Nursing pajamas

I was worried about the fit of the tops because I ordered a smaller size but because they are stretchy I have plenty of room. When the Gap says these pajamas are supersoft, they are not kidding. They feel like cashmere without the itchy heat. I am going to pack my hospital suitcase later. 🙂 I want more packages!!

S-U-C-C-E-S-S that’s the way you spell success!

I have just returned from my mini vacay in Apple Valley at my Mom’s house. I left with Maxwell yesterday to avoid the dust storm from my contractor husband. He worked himself to death till 3am last night removing that awful popcorn ceiling. He said it was fairly easy but tiring work. The new ceiling looks like a map of the world from all the missing plaster but once we paint it should look smoother. Here are the pics he took.

We went to Lowes to stock up on supplies and hardly needed to buy much besides a sander, a small scraper, plastic sheets, a brush and the infamous frog tape!

Obviously the popcorn spirits were dancing around the room

Warm water and elbow grease saved us $600! Antz is a DIY master.

Antz is shocked he was able to get it all done in one night by himself! He should host a show on HGTV.

Yesterday we went to Anthropologie to buy the Elexia flower doorknob but when we brought the existing doorknob and matched them up it looked to long so we found this one that I adore.

I love the ceramic bird and the color palette. Sadly Antz couldn’t figure out to to make it fit but we’re going to Lowes again to see if we can buy the interior door parts and ask one of the workers how to install it. The bird door knob is absolutely perfect to coordinate with this amazing find at Lowes for $29.97!!

I gave myself a budget of $50 for the curtain rod and accessories and this guy and the doorknob just made it. Now all I need is find an electrician to fix the light in the closet and buy furniture. Good news, I received my pink Naked Malfi yesterday. It is bigger than I thought which is great since it’s a focal point in the room.

I don’t want to take it out of the bag until the room is finished. Here is how it looks without the bag

My honey bunny stayed up late last night not only toiling away working on the ceiling but he finished the mobile dolls! It came out better than I could imagine. Everyone is going to want one but I am *trying my best* keeping it a secret until the baby shower when we unveil the finished nursery.

Antz, Me, Bebe Olivia, Maxwell and Lola. He is attaching them to a stick he has been keeping, we just have to find a way to secure it to the wall and make sure Lola doesn’t try to pull it down. We are both pretty tired *although I haven’t really done anything* so we’ll start again on Tuesday after my tax appt. *fingers crossed on a huge refund*
I am beyond excited!! Everything is coming along beautifully! Now I really want to work on the rest of the house. Now off to watch the BAFTA’s.

Toodle Loo!

Today was an interesting day

Check this shit out!

I… *along with Antz help* put together my map project. I was so giddy as I pushed in each pin. I can’t wait until I can say I have been to every place on my map. Hopefully, our next trip will be in 2012 to London for the Olympics. I also found out the lovely news that my all-time favorite hotel will be opening in London in 2010, the W! I adore the W. They are the best hotels I have ever stayed at. They have the most comfy beds, excellent room service and posh decor. So far I have only stayed at 2 🙁

Lovely Lily Allen

Yay Lily!

The other W we stayed at was W Silicon Valley in 2007 when we saw Björk in San Jose.

My goal is to stay at a W for every show we go to. I would love to go to Coachella *Indio, CA*

Bonnaroo,Tennessee and Glastonbury, England in the next few years. We have an early morning at the doc and Antz is calling me into the bedroom 🙂

Nighty Nights!
