Date Night with my Lovelies **Part 2**

So you would think after such a fun night and exhausting weekend we would head home and tuck ourselves into bed before 11pm. Such is not the case with us, I was driving through downtown LA *heading home* with food we picked up getting cold when I saw a swarm of network satellite vans and the street blocked off with police directing traffic. This is super common in LA so I didn’t think anything of it until I saw flashes of cameras out of the corner of my eye. I circled the block and saw a line of limos going through the blocked street, of course this peaked my celeb curiosity, so I parked and we took the Nikon, put Liv in the BabyHawk and walked 2 blocks to check out the scene. I was sure they would tell us we couldn’t walk by but I saw barricades set up across the street from this church-turned-club and the red carpet. After a little investigative work *overhearing the paparazzi mob* we found ourselves in the epicenter of the Entertainment Tonight red carpet Emmy afterparty at Vibiana.

I was seriously giddy and squealing with delight, my finger is still bruised from snapping so many shots. Our camera was very wishy-washy, it seemed to take the not so important celeb shots perfectly. When I was excited about a celeb *case in point, my darling Neil Patrick Harris* it would go blurry, dark or wouldn’t take the shot at all.

Neil and his hot piece, David Burtka, can you see how my camera was sabotaging me?

I was soo excited, I yelled “Congrats on your twin babies!!” and he turned around and SMILED!! OMG!! I also saw Alan Cumming and I said to him “Hello Mr. Cumming, I love you, you are so fantastic!” and he said “Why thank you, love” and posed for a pic. I LOVED him in The Anniversary Party

Christina Hendricks *Joan from Mad Men* is stunning! I have no idea how she manages to walk with those enormous boobs.

We mostly saw cast of the Office, 30 Rock and Glee.

Nigel Lythgoe *judge on So You Think You Can Dance*

Jane Krakowski *Jenna from 30 Rock*

Alec Baldwin’s assistant on 30 Rock

Jenna Ushkowitz *Tina from Glee*

Angela Kinsey *Angela from the Office*

Me and Judah

Judah Friedlander *Frank from 30 Rock* he was super cool and his hat said “Best Undressed”

Funniest quote of the night was this chick telling us “I’m not Crystal Bowersox, I know we are both white girls with dreads!!

No idea who this guy is

Levi Johnston *Alaskan douchebag* He had this huge bodyguard, the least famous guy was the only person with a bodyguard and he kept walking past the crowd but tried to act too important to stop by.

Brandon Routh *Superman Returns*

Nigel was sweet enough to come over and sign autographs

Ali *the last Bachlorette*

Even celebs love taco trucks!

My red carpet moment

As you can see, I was pretty close to the action *soo much fun* The paps were pretty aggressive and sort of mean. They kept talking shit about all the celebs and shouting out random stuff to get a reaction out of them. I felt awkward because I was standing right in front of them. We stayed out there until midnight and the party dwindled out. They all came out with their swag bags *that looked pretty crappy, there was Doritos in there* I was super exhausted, our food was ice cold and Liv was completely unfazed by the fame whores *myself included* as she slept on Antz chest while he hung back away from the chaos.

The scene totally reminded me of when I was younger and went on tour with my Mom.

*Stevie gave me that shawl I’m wearing, I wish I kept it*

Stevie Nicks: Live at Red Rocks Denver 1988

My Mommy performing *she’s a legendary percussionist*

Me & Stevie *in her dressing room*

I had a blast but today I am paying the price, I am beyond sleepy and my brain is fuzzy trying to remember all the details. I am seriously considering taking a photography class because my Nikon is super awesome but it doesn’t work for me at times. It sucks the most because I can’t take pics of myself *it’s too heavy and my lens won’t take pics that close*. I had the setting on automatic so I thought it would be foolproof but so many shots came our blurry or too dark.

One enchanted evening, One disappointing meal, One broken pipe

As you know, the day before yesterday was Antz and I’s *I soo need this book!* 8th wedding anniversary. We dropped Liv at his Mom’s and we grabbed lunch. Since it was such a lovely *yet excruciatingly hot* day, we decided to eat in a park in Los Feliz. We then drove to the Griffith Observatory but it was super crowded, scorching hot and we couldn’t find any parking. I took some pics but the day was pretty smoggy.

We went to the Los Feliz movie theater and saw Inception. WOW! It lived up the all the positive reviews. I really liked it! We picked up Liv and drove to Malibu. I didn’t make a reservation this year since I didn’t know when the movie was over and we didn’t want to feel rushed. It was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday so we had to wait for a table. Antz was worried that Liv would start fussing but she was ok as long as we held her.

We prayed to the Hawaiian gods that Olivia would behave

We ordered our usual *surf n’ turf* and asked that there was no Polynesian sauce
*this was Duke’s Surf n’ Turf last year*

Check out the look of enthusiasm this year *whammp whaamp*

There’s a strange lobster shell to lobster meat ration

Liv was ok, she was pretty fussy unless I held her so I need to remember to bring more bottles when we go out.

So overall the restaurant holds a special place in our hearts but the food wasn’t as yummy as previous years *the waitress even took money off of our bill* so we are thinking of a new location for next year. I’ve always wanted to go to dinner at Geoffreys or Crustacean.

Malcolm fixed the pipe yesterday *YAY -sarcastic*.

Be careful what you wish for, I mentally hoped that it would cost under $1000 and of course it came to be closer to $1000 than $500. Not the anniversary gift I wanted. We are doggysitting for Story & Chris this weekend. I am going out to Apple Valley to help my Mom with a computer project and Antz is staying home to watch Spuzz

and go to Story’s house to feed their cat. I really want to see Scott Pilgrim vs the World. At first I was skeptical *I am so over Michael Cera* however 3 things changed my mind: Edgar Wright directed it *Shaun of the Dead is one of my fave movies*, I heard really good reviews from my facebook friends and Jason Schwartzman is in it *he’s dreamy* so hopefully I’ll see it sometime this weekend.

A woman of few words

Sorry about yesterday’s post, I was on Liv duty and was unable to type with my lovely in my arms. I had to post those videos made by Antz on his new iPhone!! She is so magnificent and she cracks me up when she tries to talk *owl*. Our Saturday was pretty lazy, I woke up early and wanted to hit the road and get out *maybe an easy hike in Malibu or a walk in Downtown Disney*

but Antz wasn’t in the mood for big crowds so we hung out at home until almost 5 *weekends always seem to fly by* and I insisted we go for a drive. I had no particular destination so I headed south and on a whim ended up in Manhattan Beach. It was super chilly *and again I forgot my jacket* so we decided not walk with her on the Strand. While driving she drank her only bottle and began to get fussy so we headed home after picking up dinner. We watched Kick-Ass when we got home and the only thing that kicked ass was the foul-mouthed little girl. The writing was horrible and Nic Cage is mega lame. I am cancelling our Netflix account because the last few months I haven’t had time to watch the movies, every movie I have rented ends up on cable the next day *I watched Moon on Thursday and today it’s on cable* and there is not much I want to see in my queue anyway. So Antz was wiped out and he went to bed. I stayed up a little later *a whooping 11:30 on a Saturday night*.
Next week we have absolutely nothing planned so I’m going to start tackling my Summer Bucket list. Antz is taking the 18th off *our anniversary* and we’re dropping Liv off at his Mom’s while we finally see Inception. We are taking her with us to Duke’s for dinner that night. Next weekend we are going to get our backyard pretty again for our upcoming S’mores party on the 27th. Antz is now at Lowes picking up a new floodlight *our old one died* and he is getting some flowers to replace our dead garden. So far only 3 couples have confirmed they are coming on Facebook but a few of our friends don’t check Facebook that often so they will probably show up anyway.

This is what I get for being greedy!

Haha, today I somehow managed to behave like I’m someone’s mother. I got up around 9am and fed my Liv. As I was feeding her I kept noticing how much lint she had in her hair. Rather than give her a usual sponge bath, I felt quite confident, so I decided to give her a bath in her big tub *all by myself*. She did great, I didn’t have any trouble except carrying the tub from the bathroom to the kitchen I splashed a bit. After her bath I put her in the swing and cleaned up a little. She slept for so long I was able to take a quick shower! *Victory* When I got dressed I was hungry so we went to Subway and for the first time I wore Liv in her BabyHawk! It was super easy but the straps are too long and the drag on the ground which make them dirty *Boo*. When we got home I was starved so I ate half of my footlong sandwich and a couple of bites of the other half and huge cup of mango juice. Well, now I regret my greediness because my tummy is killing me. I have been on the phone with Best Buy for the past hour trying to do two things; figure out how to preorder a white iPhone 4 and fix my online account. The problem is that my online account has 1 item in my cart but when I click my cart it says I have no items. Noone can seem to figure out how to get the *ghost* item out my cart and no luck preordering the iPhone. I seriously need to buy a new battery for my laptop. This one is completely dead so if my cord falls out *which it does all the time* my computer shuts off. At least I wrote out my thank you cards today. When Antz gets home he’s going to print the christening photos to send with the thank you’s. We also need to take Liv’s week 7 pic. Yesterday Antz brought home a present for Liv from his co-worker, Mia!! I was so surprised, it’s a precious silver antique teapot with an “O” on it. I love it!! I think it’s way too fancy to use for tea parties but if Liv wants to she can as long as we don’t tarnish it. We have another weekend of no-plans but I’m sure we’ll either go to his Mom’s house or pick her up. We decided to ask his sister to watch Olivia on August 1st but I feel really guilty about it. Antz gave me the list of movies playing at Paramount next month: Twilight-Eclispe, Get Him to the Greek, and The Kids are Alright. I want to see all of these but I can’t leave Liv for that much 🙁
I can’t believe Keith hasn’t invited us to his house yet, *well, I can*. He is remodeling his kitchen and I’m sure he wants to wait until it’s finished before he has folks over. Every year he has a pool party and he cooks.
Last years pool party

Well, maybe some time in August will be awesome. I am on the lookout for a new cardigan and a wrap/scarf. Here are my prospects:
Nordstrom Tissue Weight Cashmere Wrap

Anthropologie – Outdoor Cafe Cardigan

I really love both of these however, they both seem too thin for the purpose.

A whole lot of nothing

I am seriously suffering the boreds! Yesterday I went to see Babies *again* with my Mommy and Antz. They both liked it but it sucked that it wasn’t playing at the Arclight and we had to go to this crummy theater in Alhambra. When we got home Antz grilled chicken and made the most amazing cobb salad and deviled eggs I’ve had! I wish I took a pic of the dish because he really used his chef skills. I took more week 39 pics because I only had one I liked that I took at acupuncture on Monday.

My last week as a pregnant lady! I was so miserable last night. I didn’t use my laptop all night, I didn’t turn on the TV *until 1am* and Antz and I sat in the living room and lit the candles in the fireplace and just cuddled. It’s much more impressive in person.

He was trying his best to keep me entertained but the only thing I showed interest in doing was eating. I gave in and watched some dumb movie at 1am and ended going to bed around 3:30 *after a late, late night grilled cheese sandwich*. I woke up around 10:30 this morning and Antz was working on his computer for an art project. I still have no agenda for today. Tomorrow we are going to Antz Mom’s for his sister’s BBQ birthday party. I really want to go swimming! Our friend Keith is the only person we know with a pool but he is having his kitchen remodeled so it will be at least until July before he has us over. I would love to go to a hotel to lounge by the pool but in my current state, I’m sure noone wants to see me preggers in a bathing suit *or even non preggers*!

Antz and I put together her swing which was a little more work than we anticipated. It’s pretty awesome but the swing makes a noise that I am finding annoying, the music is cute some classical, some nursery rhymes and some nature sounds but all very synthesized.

What chu talkin’ bout?

Latest victim in the celeb death world is Gary Coleman. I knew he would leave us early due to his medical conditions and his awful wife *throws a printer at her*. I had my totally bizarre Gary Coleman encounter while working at Starbucks in a mall where Gary worked as a security guard *see bizarre*. He came by and flirted with one of my co-workers and asked her out on a date. Unfortunately for Gary, she was taken at the time. So my Mommy came over last night and spent the night. We had a nice evening, had dinner out on the patio. This morning Mom & me had waffles at my diner and I went to the grocery store for prolly the last time in a few months. We are going to see Babies at 2 when Antz gets off. Antz Mom couldn’t make it because she is busy preparing for Clinnie’s birthday party this Sunday. I feel absolutely fine, a bit anxious because now I have visions of my water breaking in the most awkward of places *public restrooms, in the car, etc.* Now is the time, Antz is on his way home so I shall put my shoes on and wait for him to text me.
Laters!

The rest of my lovely Wednesday

I went to see Babies with Aimee at 1 today. Holy shit, that movie was soo mega cute!!

I loved all the babies but the African one was too much to handle. Their lifestyle was too much for me, letting the babies crawl in the dirt, eating rocks, letting the dogs lick their face, flies landing on their face. Gross! The Japanese baby was my favorite, she was sooo cute and she threw a tantrum Lizzie style. They also dressed her really cute. We went to Target and tried find some cute bibs and burp cloths but they didn’t have any I liked. While there me and Aimee looked at Liberty of London bedding and now I’m looking online for a King set.

The DwellStudio set  *the blue one* is our top pick but it seems to be sold out in King size. I also need a new featherbed. Antz accidently broke the Liberty of London candle I bought so I have to return it tomorrow.

Later we went to American Apparel and I found some cute bibs.
This weekend we are going to the mall and have the bibs embroidered. When I got home there was 2 boxes, my BabyHawk and a box from Samsung *I’m sure it’s a replacement drawer for our fridge*.

Sunset Blvd. for a Sunday night

OMG William Holden is super cute! Antz and I are watching Sunset Blvd. *such a great classic* and trying to relax from a busy weekend. Today we didn’t do as much as I hoped; we finished decorating the scrapbook and we did go to Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Antz sister ordered our fireplace screen online and got us 20% discount and free expedited shipping. We also bought an umbrella for the backyard. This was totally an unplanned purchase but it was $79 and we got 20% off so I had to get it for the shower. We already have an umbrella but it’s the kind that goes through a hole in a table and since we’re renting the round table with no hole I was bummed that there would be no shade for the *older peeps table*. The umbrella we bought today is the kind where the umbrella stand cantilevers to the left. The umbrella is 9ft so that will cover the table completely.

We also mentioned to Clinnie *Antz sister* that we were using a boring frame for our menu and she had a bright idea to use a rubber door mat instead. We bought it using her discount and figured out a way to make it look like the one I want for only $20! Antz will work his DIY-magic this week.

So surprisingly, I just got an rsvp from 2 of my friends from my old job who I thought wouldn’t be able to make it. I am happy they are coming but it really messes up my seating chart. 🙁

My ridiculous rendering of the backyard and seating chart *lol*!! The backyard looks huge but it is nowhere near to scale so it will be a tight fit. The worst part is I will have no idea if everything will even fit until the Friday before when the tables and chairs are delivered. I am also concerned about the tight fit of the food and dessert/drink table for all the guests to line up on the patio. The orange tree is really bigger than I drew and Antz keeps telling me the only solution is to trim the tree but there are 3 bird’s nests in that tree and it breaks my heart to evict any of our birdies 🙁

TCOB! *Taking Care of Baby Shower*

Yesterday my BFF, Aimee and her son Holden came to visit. They loved the nursery *of course* and we went to have dinner and dessert at a diner in Alhambra. We had fun!

After they left we starting working on Bebe Shower tasks. Antz did the first round of namecard stickers and put them on the takeout boxes. They look AMAZING!!

I love them!! Even though they are small they look adorable. He thinks the boxes aren’t big enough to hold leftovers but it’s ok. Hopefully everyone will eat all the food so we’re not stuck with tons of rice. I started making the ribbon for the clothespins. I like the colors and the curling I did isn’t wow-ing me. Antz thinks they look ok and at least it’s something.

We figured out how to use the Fuji camera and I took a test shot of Antz on the couch. We love it! It does take a while to develop but they are super cute.

*Yay our new curtains!!*
Today I run more errands, back to Target to exchange my slippers. Grocery shopping and hopefully I’ll get the baby bottles in the mail today. Tonight we are going to Paramount Studios to see Alice in Wonderland *sadly not in 3D* oh well, we haven’t been to the movies since Wolfman which I didn’t like so much. I am a bit bummed and annoyed that I’m not getting more RSVPs. So far, I have 7 confirmed guests. It bothers me that people get such an awesome invite but don’t immediately respond. It’s far enough in advance for them to block that day on their calendar. I really don’t want to have to call each person on May 1st to get them to confirm. It also holds up our favors production. So many people were asking me about the shower, yet no word now that they have the invite 🙁
Arrgh! Why is my cat the only one who knows when I get a package. I have so many things scheduled to be delivered today and the mailman NEVER rings my bell! My cat hurried into the bedroom with her ears back and hid in my closet. That is the only way I knew someone must be at the door. Of course it was my baby bottles.

They are quite small so I am hoping we don’t get multiple winners. I need to make sure they will all fit on the tray we bought to pass them out on. It’s funny these photograph orange but they are red.

Stroller Indecisiveness and The September Issue

Ok, I am watching the September Issue and I am so freaking loving it!!

I so badly wanted to see it at Los Feliz theater but Aimee couldn’t go and no one else wanted to go with me. My fashion buddy, Nicolette had already seen it so now I watching it à la Netflix. So far, the soundtrack is making me so happy, Ladytron, and I adore Grace Coddington!

Don’t let this photo fool you, Grace was hot stuff back in the 60’s and modeled for Vogue. The fashion scene in 60’s London, Heaven!!

So the newest debate is do I get the Bugaboo Bee or Bugaboo Chameleon? I saw someone with a Chameleon yesterday and it made me want it but it feels like the Bee would be better for long term. The price difference is the chameleon is $880 and the Bee *May 2010 model* is $649.

The 2009 version, seat is too narrow for toddlers, canopy is too low and brakes have been known to fail.

The new version has fixed all those problems and I guess I’ll wait until the new Bee model comes out to make up my mind, or not!

Last Monday my Mom and I somehow ended in Manhattan Beach so I took week 28 photos. It was a lovely day on the beach.

Yikes, my shadow is enormous!

I love this one of us, however we do look a bit alien-like. I am so annoyed with UPS! I should have alot of packages coming in today. The sooner I get my Flip, the sooner Antz and I can start building the bebe furniture. Hmm, do I want to start building yet? Maybe once I order the glider so we have ample room for everything.
