Bebe, bebe, bebe shower

It somehow just dawned on me that I completely forgot about shower game prizes. I am thinking of something that’s not bebe related and not super lame like a candle. The only thing I could think of feels unimaginative but $5 gift cards from Starbucks and In & Out may seem nice. Today is such a lazy day, it’s been raining all week and the sun came out for a few hours but there are dark clouds looming so I’m sure it will rain tonight. Just missed taking a picture of an awesome rainbow.

All this rain is giving me the blues and I am dreaming of heading south for the winter to the Bahamas. Lilsugar just did a feature on the Atlantis Paradise Island resort and I want to go soo bad!

This Mayan Temple water slide may look familiar as it was featured on the Amazing Race where a contestant tried to force his girlfriend to go on the slide dispite her extreme fear of water. Oh well, they ended up eliminated, just wonder if they are still dating. It was rated very high for family vacays. There is a huge water park and kids club that offers cooking lessons. I’m sure Olivia will love that. Hopefully we can go in 2014 but who knows. I am cringing because March is fast approaching and I have yet to make reservations for our Montreal bebemoon 🙁  With all this rain I may have to forfeit our bebemoon in favor of getting our garage repaired. I am oddly excited to see the Winter Olympics next week *nerd!* Johnny Weir *even though he wears fur* and the girl’s figure skating are my faves.

I am DVR-ing them but my DVR is almost full so I’ll have to delete some movies I love like *The Long, Long Trailer starring Lucy & Ricky* Did I mention the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus was quite amazing! Visually stunning, well cast although I wasn’t so fond of Jude Law and Collin Farrell’s performances. The director, Terry Gilliam is a genius, I had to wikipedia him and I knew he was afflilated with the Monty Python bunch but I didn’t know he renounced his American citizenship. Interesting, I have always dreamed of becoming an expatriate in either London, France or Sweden. Don’t stop believin’!

Lizzie’s Wild Ride

I know it’s totally cliche but as I’m watching this show on Mtv called the Buried Life based on the book 1,000 Things to do Before you die, so I feel compelled to list what I’ve accomplished so far. You know, to feel better about myself!

Our daughter is pretty rad!

Goodbye Ruby Tuesday

That song has been stuck in my head for a few days now. Last night I went to prenatal yoga, which was lovely but I am sore. Tonight we are going to Paramount to see The Lovely Bones. I am going to see my sis-in-law at Bed, Beth & Beyond today to buy a few things

Boppy Pillow
At first I was going get the Snoogle *shaped like a candy cane* but I like that I can use this to nurse.

I hope this works, it’s early now but in January movement begins and I would love to play classical for the baby.

Everyone has to have a Hooter Hider

My sis-in-law is getting me a 20% discount. I really want to take advantage of the end of year sales but we don’t have any place to store things. Last Monday I was checking out Young House Love and I got inspired and attempted my 1st mood board.

I know it’s a bit cluttered and the text is overwhelming but I was excited and I wanted to try to put everything in the room at once. I still have to figure out how to put in the crib bedding. I’m glad I could visualize the room but I wonder if it lacks color, and it’s going to be difficult to find the right wall paint. We are keeping the 2 brown walls and I wanted to put a square pattern of teal, turqouise, lime green, Tiffany box blue and orange. However, I have seen this exact pattern in magazines and Bringing Home Baby a few too many times. I would like to put up a wall size canvas behind the crib and have Antz draw a mural but I’m not sure of what. I have seen too many trees, safari animals and monkey murals. I love this piece of art I saw at Monkeyhouse in Silverlake *which is sadly closing next month*

Lorax by Darren Goldman. I can’t bring myself to have any other artist besides my husband in the nursery. Ah well, hopefully the popcorn ceiling removal will happen this month and sometime in March we will seriously plan paint. So, being that next year is right around the corner, I have a new babymoon destination. I think it’s quite suitable as it is international travel and it has a W hotel 🙂 Drumroll please, Montréal, Quebec, Canada.
I am hoping we can go the weekend of my birthday in March. I will be 29 weeks so I can still fly without a doc’s note. I have always wanted to go to Montreal, I love the French culture and I am excited to go to the Biodome and see the Artic animals. I also hope to pick up a bunch of toys for the baby out there.

Sing a song of sixpence, a pocket full of posies

I just realized I need to brush up on my nursery rhymes and songs. It has been a week since I wrote, but I can’t say it’s been busy. I have been stuck in a daily routine that is feeling quite monotonous. We bought tile for our front stairs this weekend and Antz will be taking Thursday off to work on them. I also got free tix for a screening of Fantastic Mr. Fox, a Wes Anderson film. I am just disappointed Anjelica Huston is not in it

Anjelica and Jeff Goldblum *my crush*

We are going to our first official Ob/Gyn appt. on Thursday. I scheduled the nuchal screening test for Nov. 24th. I feel like I’m on pause. I am too early for any fun preggo events. I have been taking naps everyday around the same time. I am looking forward to starting prenatal yoga next month. Hopefully I can figure out a way to get some weekly swimming into my activities *Keith & Tina’s house*. I feel a little blue because I would love to be starting some home reno projects to prep our house for sale and we can get into Atwater Village. Well, it’s not a bright idea to be around major work while I’m preggers. So maybe 2010 will be the year we move. Still craving a babymoon, I will have to book soon because after 20 weeks, no travel.

My dream Babymoon

Big Sur Glen Oaks Cabins

There is also a spa nearby. Not sure how great I would feel after a 6 hour drive but at least it’s close.  My lovely is making his amazing tacos for dinner so I shall leave you.

Five Things I want to do in this lifetime

1. Learn to speak French (at least conversely)

The most amazing place in the world, Paris.

2. Attend the Opening Ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics

3. It would be incredible if we could see our child graduate from Oxford University (hopefully with honors).

4. I’ve said this a million times but I would like to be a guest at every W hotel so 49 to go, maybe one per year.

Hopefully I will go to W Maldives Retreat & Spa on our 20 year anniversary in 2022.

5.  I would like to swim with dolphins and scuba with sharks (preferably in the Great Barrier Reef).

Here’s hoping for a long lifetime and enjoying the journey along to way to each accomplishment!

Baby, Baby, Babymoon

I need a vacay! Seems strange to want to go on a vacation after spending the last 168 hours in bed but I am dying to take a trip. I am leaning towards New York but now that I am really thinking about it, I really want to go to New York so we can go to Niagara Falls and I read that I can’t take the Maid of the Mist boat tour if I’m preggers. My friends just went so it makes me want to go more.

It looks pretty but there isn’t much to do there unless we go to Canada.
Besides, I’ve been to New York like 8 times and maybe I should try somewhere I haven’t been…Hawaii, yeah right! Maybe we can take a weekend road trip up the coast to Santa Barbara or Big Sur. I would like to go in March around my birthday *I’ll be about 6 months by then*. Last time we took a trip was back in April, we went to San Diego to see Lily Allen. It was a blast, we stayed at the W. My dream is to stay at every W in the world which is quite ambitious since there are 52 hotels and 14 more being built. Maybe I can go to at least 20, so far I have 3 down!

bonne peine!

I really, really want to learn French. I want our child to be fluent in Spanish and French. His Grandmother will teach him Spanish. I took 7 years of Spanish so I can speak it adequately, but I want to speak French to our bebe. For some reason, I have not been able to retain French, I have made flash cards, read countless books and listened to French podcasts. I enrolled in a French class at a community college last year but I felt out of my element and it was quite difficult without any prior French basis. I dropped out the first week. Maybe at my age, my ability to learn a new language is slowing. I am considering the Rosetta Stone software, I hear it is very successful.  Ideally, I would learn if I spent a year in Paris *sigh*. When I was in Paris I didn’t attempt French at all because every person we came in contact with spoke English.

Me and Aimee in front of Notre Dame (257 stairs!)

Hopefully, I will learn it before our bebe is born *that gives me 9 months* Such an optimist!  My Mom may be coming into town next week but this week is at a stand still. Antz is playing volleyball tonight, I have not decided if I will go watch him play. It gets annoying when everyone asks me why I’m not playing. Saying I’m sick doesn’t seem to be enough, they want to know what is wrong and when will I be playing again. I just want to scream I MAY BE PREGGO!! so staying home is an easier option. We have been talking about a much needed vacation but I really want to start saving for the 2012 London olympics and if we spend any money that will mess up my savings plan. If I could go anywhere *without financial worry* I would go to Hawaii. I would love to spend our 10 year anniversary there. However Alaska is peaking my interest as well. Oh well, I’ll be happy if we get a weekend at my Godfather’s house in Palm Springs.

Au Revoir

Seven Years of Heaven

Yesterday was our 7 year wedding anniversary. Nope, no 7 year itching happening here!! We went to Duke’s for our traditional anniversary dinner.

5 Years  8/18/2007

6 Years   8/18/2008

7 Years 8/18/2009

The only thing that can compare to the greatest day of my life *holding the #1 spot for bebe’s birthday* was my wedding day. We planned for 1 1/2 years every detail, did everything ourselves except baked the cake. I attended every bridal expo in Southern California. I memorized Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. I visited The Knot.com on an hourly basis. I was consumed with place cards and linens. Despite our trolley getting stuck in the sand for 45 minutes, our day was perfection. I am starting preliminary plans for our 10 year vow renewal. Hopefully we’ll have it in Hawaii and we really want a live band *including a harpist* this time. We had our reception at Dukes Malibu so it would be awesome to have our renewal at Dukes Honolulu.

Today was an interesting day

Check this shit out!

Blue – Los Angeles *Highland Park* where we reside
Red – Places we have traveled together
Green – Places I have traveled
White – Places Antz has traveled
Yellow – Places we hope to travel *with Bebe*

I… *along with Antz help* put together my map project. I was so giddy as I pushed in each pin. I can’t wait until I can say I have been to every place on my map. Hopefully, our next trip will be in 2012 to London for the Olympics. I also found out the lovely news that my all-time favorite hotel will be opening in London in 2010, the W! I adore the W. They are the best hotels I have ever stayed at. They have the most comfy beds, excellent room service and posh decor. So far I have only stayed at 2 🙁

W San Diego

The Lobby/Lounge Area

The Bar

The Beach Lounge

Our Wonderful Room

Lovely Lily Allen

Yay Lily!

The other W we stayed at was W Silicon Valley in 2007 when we saw Björk in San Jose.

My goal is to stay at a W for every show we go to. I would love to go to Coachella *Indio, CA*

Bonnaroo,Tennessee and Glastonbury, England in the next few years. We have an early morning at the doc and Antz is calling me into the bedroom 🙂

Nighty Nights!

Glastonbury Greatest Headliners of History, or at least in my opinion!

I have been fantasizing about going to Glastobury since the early nineties (a time too embarrassing for me to further elaborate on). I have seen a good portion of my top headliners a bunch of times but this list would be the ultimate musical orgasm for me. I have composed a list of my all-time *alive or dead* 20 Greatest Headliners in Life. The best thing is I don’t have to camp out for a week in mud or pay 20 pounds for disgusting, vile British food either. Enjoy 🙂

***bjork*** – this is a no-brainer, however I would love to see her in her Post/Homogenic days, now she’s a bit more lullebye-ish and less rockin as she was back then.

Tom Waits – Any time period is fine as long as it’s not that Somewhere in Time garbage

Billie Holiday – She can sing the Alphabet song and I would cry, Strangefruit is the most saddingly beautiful song I have ever heard in my life. That song is an anthem.

Freezepop – For the mere fact I enjoy dancing at shows, IT’S TIME FOR ME TO ROKK!!

Goldfrapp – see above reason

Belle & Sebastian – This is tricky because I have 25 favorites of them and it would be really hard to choose between them.

Mos Def – I devoted much of 1998 to him and I have never seen him live, I saw The Roots and Erykah Badu but I would love to see a trio happen, uugh sickness!

Elliott Smith – He is so saddington and sad people are hilarious!

David Bowie – Ah-duh! too obvious

April March – Rocking ass French chick who I adore, so dope.

Joanna Newsom – I saw her open for bjork but the audio was being retarded so I would like to hear her again so I could appreciate her rocking out on a harp.

The Gossip – My best friend saw her at a club in downtown and I am majorly jealous because she said Beth was saying Aaliyah was her favorite artist and she sang like 2 tributes to her, now I am not an Aaliyah fan but I would have loved to be at that show! Plus she is the hot sauce!

Oingo Boingo – Rules my 80’s life, I-i-i-i- love little girls, they make me feel so good!

Mickey Avalon – Only because he’s a hot and sweaty mess, I like his stink.

Portishead – I have their dvd live in Roseland NYC but it doesn’t do Beth justice. Her voice is hauntingly amazing.

M.I.A. – She’s like dancehall and Miami ass shaking in one, I have been down with her since 05!

Daft Punk – besides being the shiznit, they have the best videos on the planet, I was so mad when Kanye “borrowed” their beats.

John Coltrane – I would just like to hear A Love Supreme Live, is that asking too much?

Astrud Gilberto – That girl is POISON! I love her sweet voice, it never gets old for me, I’m down with a little bossa nova!

The Bird and the Bee – Such a amazing band, very retro sounding.

Black Box Recorder – Close to TB&TB I love English singers!!

Tori Amos – I hear she is amazing live, I was almost embarrassed to add her too my list because she reminds me so much of that Lilith Fair – don’t shave your armpits type crowd but fuck that, she’s rad and I stand by her.

Actually I am hoping we can go to Glastonbury in 2016, the problem is whenever I see the headliners it’s like only 3 amazing bands and everyone else is mediocre. How the hell did Neil Diamond Headline last year??
